As a courtesy to the speakers and your fellow attendees, please switch your mobile device(s) to silent while attending the sessions. If using a mobile device (phone, tablet, or camera) to take non-flash photography during Congress sessions, please be courteous to fellow attendees and refrain from blocking the view of those seated behind you.

SOCIAL MEDIA

We invite all IPPA World Congress attendees to use the official Congress hashtag #IPPAWorldCongress when posting about the Congress on social media. In particular we’re calling participants to share reflections of your connections made during the Congress, as we celebrate gathering in-person once again. 

Adding #IPPAWorldCongress and tagging @IPPAnet to your post can help connect you with other Congress attendees as well as the larger global positive psychology community online. Search for #IPPAWorldCongress on LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook throughout the program to share and engage with highlights from colleagues. Be sure to follow IPPA on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn to stay connected during the Congress and throughout the year.

ACCREDITATION

The CPD Standards Office officially confirms that The International Positive Psychology Association, PROVIDER No. 41139 has been successfully assessed as a CPD event provider, and has received formal independent CPD accreditation for the IPPA World Congress on Positive Psychology. Registrants that attended, will be emailed an electronic CPD Certificate of Attendance (34 hours of CPD) and can record their attendance towards their formal CPD requirements for their professional body, institute or employer.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE

A personalized Certificate of Attendance will be sent to all onsite attendees electronically on Sunday 23 July.

LANGUAGE

English is the official language of the Congress. No translation arrangements have been made.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Any photography, filming, taping, recording or reproduction in any medium including via the use of tripod-based equipment of any of the programs and/or posters presented at the 8th World Congress on Positive Psychology without the express written consent of the International Positive Psychology Association is strictly prohibited. Exceptions to this policy include non-flash photography and audiotape recording using hand-held equipment for strictly personal use, which are permitted if not disruptive.

Please note that attending the 2023 World Congress, participants do hereby give permission to IPPA to use any photos/recordings taken during the Congress which contains their likeness in any respectable manner, without compensation or reward. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of these photos in promotional material in print or electronically. 

INSURANCE

The Congress organizers cannot accept liability for personal injuries sustained, or for loss of, or damage to, property belonging to Congress attendees, either during or as a result of the Congress. Please check the validity and coverage of your own insurance.

CONGRESS CODE OF CONDUCT 

IPPA is committed to providing a safe, productive and welcoming environment for everyone participating in the Congress. All participants including, but not limited to, attendees, presenters, volunteers, exhibitors, IPPA staff, service providers and others are expected to abide by this IPPA Congress Code of Conduct. 

Expected Behavior:

  • Communicate with respect and consideration for others, valuing a diversity of views and opinions.
  • Avoid personal attacks directed toward other attendees, participants, IPPA staff and suppliers/vendors.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Alert IPPA staff if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress.
  • Respect the rules and policies of Congress venues, hotels or any other related facilities.
  • Request permission from speakers before recording or taking photographs during their presentation. Turn off any ringers or otherwise disrupting devices during oral or poster sessions.
  • All attendees should feel empowered to speak up or intervene if they observe discriminatory behavior directed at others.

Unacceptable Behavior:

It is important that our Congress be a place where no attendee or staff is ever belittled, harassed or made to feel unsafe. The following behavior will not be tolerated:

  • Harassment, intimidation or discrimination in any form.
  • Physical, written, or verbal abuse of any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, IPPA staff member, service provider or other meeting guest.
  • Examples of unacceptable behavior include, but are not limited to, verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, national origin, inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces or in presentations, threatening or stalking any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, IPPA staff member, service provider or other meeting guest.

Reporting Unacceptable Behavior & Consequences:

  • Anyone experiencing or witnessing behavior that constitutes an immediate or serious threat to public safety is advised to contact 911 and locate a house phone and ask for security.
  • If you are the subject of unacceptable behavior or have witnessed any such behavior, please immediately notify the IPPA Executive Director (Scott Pearl), any IPPA officer, or our Congress services representative (ASN Events).
  • Notification can also occur by emailing your concern to the IPPA Executive Director or our Congress services representative (spearl@ippanetwork.org or hannah.p@asnevents.net.au, respectively).
  • After receiving a report of inappropriate behavior, our conference services representative will assess the report and work with the complainant to determine the most appropriate response. IPPA is committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals involved in the incident to the greatest extent possible. When necessary, the IPPA leadership will be notified that a complaint has been received so it can consider appropriate actions.
  • The IPPA leadership reserves the right to take any lawful action we deem necessary in response to a violation of this code. This includes, but is not limited to, the immediate removal from the meeting without warning or refund.

The IPPA leadership also encourages anyone to contact IPPA regarding ways in which the association can improve inclusion & diversity and encourage both a stimulating and supporting atmosphere.
