Background

Positive psychology coaching, LEGO serious play, and gamification are three different paths in today's practice. 

Aim

The artefact is an intervention that uses gamification to provide motivation to create a short, iterative goal to close the gap between the user's current and ideal self. The intervention provides the user with a future positive outlook by working on stuff mattering to them. It improves the user's self-concept and psychological well-being.

Method

The process work by building stories happening in daily life using LEGO in serious play in a virtual world. It creates a human-centric experience of positive psychology coaching in a digitized way by shifting the user's perspective through self-exploration by building and designing the user's own story in the gamification world. The artefact design combines the three practices into one platform. Coaching comes from the story built by the user. The user's agenda is the story, which is their challenge and situation. Positive psychology coaching comes from an avatar built into the game. It supports the user by asking questions based on their story and analyzes the story build. It has an interactive session with the user to allow the user to be comfortable with the strength label. It triggers the user's creativity and leads to a series of self-discovery and exploration. The game layout is the user's goal and plans to strategize how to achieve their goal. 

Results

A short animated survey will be conducted at the end of every stage to channel back to the creator to improve the game design by working with a positive psychology coach and game designer.

Conclusion

This artefact includes a user-centered design that brings about a user experience of motivation, engagement, and attaining one goal and hope. It is a companion to the user, providing the user an optimum support matching.
