The identification and investigation of Flow as a complex and generative state, emerging amidst the fluctuations of daily experience, made Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi one of the most innovative and brilliant representatives of psychological science in the twentieth century. His theoretical and empirical contributions pointed the way forward to researchers and practitioners in a variety of domains – from education to work, from arts to healthcare, from sports to social policy. The role of flow as a resource that can actualize the individual and collective potential for growth and development is however still underexplored, due to its deep interplay with long-term psychological and social processes. In this symposium four promising young researchers, who have taken up Csikszentmihalyi’s legacy and vision, will propose.different pathways of investigation and intervention centered on flow.
