Childhood and adolescence are life stages of important psychological, emotional and social development. The experiences, education and relationships that young people have during these years influence their wellbeing while growing up as well as shaping their mental health trajectories and pro-social tendencies through their adult life. Applying positive psychology and prevention-promotion approaches are, therefore, an avenue of great hope. In this panel, Professor Lea Waters AM, PhD, has brought together emerging scholars in the field of positive youth psychology who will showcase their research and practice from Australia, Peru, and the USA. The audience will hear about the range of research methods used including meta-analysis, qualitative interventions and case study research. The panel will share how PPIs in schools and families are successfully building strengths, resilience, and wellbeing in young people.
