Amir Freimann (Israel, 1958) spent 25 years in a Zen monastery in Japan and a small spiritual community in the US. He is the author of Spiritual Transmission: Paradoxes and Dilemmas on the Spiritual Path, based on interviews with one-hundred spiritual teachers and students about their relationship.
Amir is currently a doctoral student at the University of Haifa, writing his thesis on Living Transcendence: A Phenomenological Study of Spiritual Exemplars, based on interviews he did with 32 spiritual exemplar of different traditions and paths from around the globe.
His postdoctoral research (scheduled to start in 2024) will focus on the experience and cultivation of Unlimited Love in the lives of spiritual masters. He intends to co-create a documentary film on this subject.
